Dear Shelley,

I still can't thank you enough for your dispassionate yet expert evaluation and advice to me over the past couple of weeks. It has greatly helped me to re–assess myself and my capabilities, and to finally acknowledge in public what I have known in private for a long time—that I AM worth more than I have been selling myself as, for a very long time!

There is still a faint chance that this job might yet fall at the last hurdle (whatever that may be) – or that something will happen to make me change my mind (again!) at the very last minute… if that is so, then rest assured I will be in contact with you immediately and go single–mindedly for any suitable position that you should see fit to present to me. It is really good to be aware of the alternative opportunities out there, so I will never feel trapped in a job that I can't afford to abandon. One of the great things about New Zealand is that it seems to be less 'ageist' than the UK – I have friends of my age who daren't attempt to change jobs even though they are hating their positions, simply because it is so hard to get past the age barrier; never mind that we can offer life experience, a far greater work ethic and often a more stable attitude and greater dependency than Generation Y!

Once again, my very grateful thanks and appreciation for all that you have done for me.

With very best wishes – and who knows, maybe we will be in contact again in the future?!!

I would just like to record my impressions at an interview this afternoon with Chris Lawry at the Hamilton Office.

I had initially had my expectations met when I received your email and then Chris' telephone call within a few hours of sending you my original email after I saw the web site.

The premises exceeded my expectations – I knew I would see smart, crisp, clean – because this is the image from the web site – and what I saw was crisper and smarter, even with the lack of bodies on the floor. I was greeted most courteously and made to feel welcome.

I would also like to make you aware of how professionally Chris conducted himself during the interview – I found it a real pleasure to be dealing with someone who knew what was expected of him and who was not deterred by the age or experience of whom he was interviewing.

I also said that I would welcome the opportunity of working with the team in Hamilton – if you have such a need – for a while to assist with the growth and development of the office.
